About
Product & Devsigner for the past 22 years
Started in teaching for the Mac OS community of my small town. Mobile phones Design pulled me into mechanical engineering and physical product design, where a tenth of a millimetre is a defect. Then what was on the screen got more interesting than the object around it so I moved through Agencies, early-stage startups, growth-stage teams, then AAOA.studio. Education, engineering, digital: the same work every time, only the wording changes.
After long enough, the process stops producing documentation and starts producing judgment. What looks like intuition is pattern recognition compounded across decades: a poster I saw in Italy in 2015 that resolves a layout problem ten years later, a kiosk in a language I could not read that reframed how I think about information hierarchy. The case studies here are that judgment, the work, shipped with a network of collaborating designers and engineers, the thinking that happened before any tool was ever opened.
